Wade Eugene Stevens, age 54, Lincoln, formerly McCook, entered into eternal life on February 9, 2017 at The Monarch Hospice Facility in Lincoln.  Wade was born January 23, 1963 in Crete to Gerald O. and Patsy R. (Lape) Stevens.  His parents owned a painting business and traveled to follow work.  For this reason, Wade attended various schools but called Palisade home.  He met the love of his life, Penny Clapp-Gonzales, and on July 14, 2011 they were united in marriage.  Wade was a painter by trade.  He also loved to fish and camp and was an avid Husker fan; be it football, basketball, baseball, or volleyball, if it was a Husker team, he was a fan.  He was also a fan of the Kansas City Royals baseball team and the Kansas City Chiefs NFL team.  But most of all, his children and grandchildren were his biggest love.

Wade was preceded in death by his parents and a niece, Samantha Stevens.

Survivors include his wife, Penny of Lincoln, his three children, Joseph (Eve) Stevens of West Allis, WI, Danielle (Tyler) Shada of Orleans, and Brook Stevens of Oxford; three stepchildren, Traci (Wade) Wilkinson of Omaha, Roni Thompson of Scottsdale, AZ, and Troy Gonzales of McCook; Eight grandchildren, Seth, Samantha, Selestina, Daniel and Aviah Stevens,, Annibelle, Hesston, and Charlotte Shada; Six step-grandchildren, Connor and Kiley Wilkinson, Ava Thompson, Josiah, Jaylen, and Isabella Gonzales.  Sister, Janet (Roger) Werkmeister of McCook, Vickye (David) Stupka of Minden, Sherry Curran of Lincoln, and Rhonda (Gary) Hinz of Arapahoe; Brothers, James (Cheryl) Stevens of McCook and Jerry (Deanna) Stevens of Beatrice; Mother-in-law, Freda Clapp,brothers-in-law, Randy Clapp and Royce Clapp all of McCook.  Also, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Celebration of Life Services will be Friday, February 24, 2017 at 1:00 pm at the Evangelical Church, 612 East 14th, McCook.  Inurnment will be at the Palisade Cemetery in Palisade.  Flower arrangements may be sent to the church.  Memorials may be sent to Penny Gonzales-Stevens, 6001 South 53rd Street, Lincoln, NE 68516.  Trump Funeral Services, 6800 West “O” Street, Lincoln are handling the arrangements.  Condolences may be left at trumpmemorials.com.
