Robert “Bruce” Wallen was born on October 25, 1951 in Lincoln. He passed away peacefully on June 19, 2017 losing a seven year battle with Lewybody/Parkinson’s. Bruce lived most of his life in Lincoln (Raymond for a time) and was a 1969 graduate of Lincoln High. A good union man (U.R.W. Local #286), a good Democrat and just a good guy. Bruce retired from Goodyear after 30+ years. He enjoyed life, loved riding his bike on the trails for hours at a time, grilling outside, doing crosswords, watching “Game of Thrones”, movies, and listening to music.

He is survived by his daughters, Nicole Markwell and her six children of Beaverton, OR and Jessica Johnson of Lincoln; Two brothers, Bill (JoAnn) Wallen of Lincoln and Steve Wallen of Lincoln; nephew, Robert T. Wallen of Lincoln; niece, Lexi Wallen and children of Lincoln.

Preceded in death by parents, Robert K. and Margarett (Bartzatt) Wallen; fiancee, Judy Pierce

Thanks to the many caregivers at St. E’s Burn/Wound Center, The Monarch, Ashland Care and Southlake over the last year. And hey, he got back on his feet towards the end, Southlake. You’ll be sorely missed brother.

Visitation with family greeting friends will be held from 4 pm to 7 pm, Friday, June 23, 2017 at Trump Funeral Services, 1600 West “O” Street, Lincoln.  

Memorial services will be at 1 pm, Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Lakeview United Methodist Church, 230 Capitol Beach Blvd., Lincoln with Rev. Ray Norris officiating.  Inurnment will be in the Oak Creek Cemetery, Raymond.  Casual dress requested.  No memorials or flowers, do something nice for yourself or another and think of Bruce.
