Karen Annette (Stockdale) Tapp was born November 4, 1943 in the “Green House”, Spring Valley, MN to Dale and Elaine (Loucks) Stockdale, the third of four children.  She was raised on a farm near Grand Meadow, MN.  She graduated from LeRoy High School, LeRoy, MN.  On July 29, 1962 Karen married her High School Sweetheart and the love of her life, Donald Gene Tapp at the LeRoy Lutheran Church in LeRoy, MN.  After their marriage, Karen continued her education and became a licensed LPN.

Karen was a kind, generous and caring woman.  She loved her family and was devoted to the love of her life, Don.  Karen’s smile and laugh were contagious.  She made everyone feel welcome and at ease.  For Thirty years, Karen was known as the “Tupperware Lady” and never knew a stranger.  Karen loved shopping and spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren.

Life changed for Karen when she had a stroke on January 5, 2006. Karen still showed her love and concern for family and especially the love of her life with smiles, kidding remarks, hugs and kisses.  Her love for shopping never ceased!  With the help of Don’s “card holder”, Karen was also able to play cards which she would do at a drop of a hat!

Don lovingly took care of Karen for the last twelve years since the stroke.  They celebrated 55 years of marriage this year on July 29, 2017.  Karen died Saturday, December 2nd, at the age of 74.

Survivors include her husband, Donald, three daughters and son-in-laws – LeaAnn and Ronald Moore (Crete, NE), Brenda and Daniel Bornemeier (Murdock, NE), Dorie and Todd Memming (Waverly, NE), seven grandchildren – Havilah (Moore) and James Greene, Joy Moore – Anna, Katelyn and Cody Bornemeier – Jesse and Eli Memming and two great-grandchildren – Anabelle and James Henry Greene.
