Harlan LeRoy Arington, was born Aug. 31, 1936 on a farm near Dawson, NE to Lloyd & Veda (Welch) Arington. He was the third of four children born and passed away on Sunday Apr. 21, 2019 at his home in Lincoln, surrounded by his family.  As a young boy, Harlan attended grade schools in Falls City and Humboldt. He enlisted in the Us Air
Force, serving from 1955 to 1959 with an honorable discharge. He was united in marriage to Joyce Yarger on Apr. 26, 1957 in San Antonio, TX. To this union four children were born, Teresa, James,
Susan and Kenneth.

Following Harlan’s discharge from the Air Force, he returned to Humboldt where he delivered milk for Herrs Dairy from the age of nine years then processed milk and then for Fairmont Foods in Lincoln where he was a milk processor. Harlan was later employed as a car salesman for Dean Brothers, retiring in 2001. After his retirement, he worked 13 years delivering parts for O’Reilly Auto Parts. Harlan enjoyed collecting Hot Wheels, Match Box and various die cast cars.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce of 62 years; son and daughter-in-law James and Suzy Arington, son Kenny Arington and life partner Chris Hartley, and daughter Susan Stetson all of Lincoln; six
grandchildren, Brad, Amanda, Courtney, Keshia, Dylan, & Brandon; seven great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; brothers and sister-in-law, Gary and Carol Arington, Syracuse, NE, Joseph Arington, Cambridge, WI, brother-in-law, Larry Yarger, Milwaukee, OR and sister-in-law, Twila Bayly, Fresno, CA; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, daughter, Teresa ; sister Edith and her husband Otis Bauman.

Harlan always said, “The One Who Dies With The Most ‘Toys’ – WINS! … and I won.”
