Ross Owen Fisher passed away in Lincoln, Nebraska on August 5th, 2023 at the age of 61 surrounded by his family. He was a father, papa, brother, uncle, and friend. He was preceded in death by his father Gene and mother Lu Ella, both sets of grandparents and his nephews Joel Fisher, Jeremy Fisher, Sam Fisher and Dillon Fisher.
He is survived by his daughters Krystal & (James) of Valparaiso, Rexann & (Josh) of Valparaiso and Lana Tilson of Valparaiso. Ross will be deeply missed, especially by his many grandchildren, Joe Weaver, Karrie Weaver, Matthew Weaver, Brooklelyn Tilson and Paisley Ward. Ross’ Colorado family, brother Reese Fisher (Cynthia), Marc & (Laura) Fisher, his sister Leslie & (Tully) Fisher (Hard), three nieces and two nephews.
Ross was born to Gene and Lu Ella Fisher in San Jose California, then moved to Colorado for most of his life. He met his girl’s mom (Lana Tilson) in Boulder, Colorado at the age 21. They had two children, Krystal Tilson and Rexann Tilson. He then got his CDL and had 40+ years of over the road trucking where he loved to travel and drive.
Ross’ love for his children was evident to all who knew him. He was well known for his stories, for life and passion for travel. He loved living on the edge. You could never could tell when or where you would see him but Ross and his dog Bowser were always together and on the road. He always loved the ocean. For a few years the family lived in Florida. The ocean was Ross’ favorite place. He also loved fishing, hunting and camping. He took the kids, the dogs and of course the goat camping all the time. One thing we can say is he had no fear of anything and was a great driver.
There will be a celebration of life on September 16 in Valparaiso. Time and place will be on facebook as an event as we are waiting to see how Nebraska weather is. Thanks for all your support and prayers in this time of need.
God Bless. Cards can be sent to P.O. Box 427 Valparaiso ne 68065
