Richard Lee “Dick” Ligenza, a lifelong resident of Lincoln, Nebraska, died on February 25, 2025 at the age of 78 while surrounded by his family.
Richard is survived by his children, Thomas Ligenza and his wife Karla, Kandra Albers, Nichole Ligenza, and Phillip Ligenza and his wife Angela; and his grandchildren, Nicholas Welton and his wife Bailey, Rachel Delp and her husband Spencer, Amanda Ligenza, Samantha Ligenza, Tomee Ligenza, Kimberly Ligenza, Makayla Watson and her husband Brandon, Hunter Albers, Austin Ligenza and his wife Justine, and Carter Ligenza; and five great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents, Phillip Ligenza and Alta Alexander; his wife Pamela Grell; his brother James Ligenza; and his daughter Tammi Ligenza.
Richard was born on July 17, 1946 to Phillip Ligenza and Alta Alexander. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1964. Richard was drafted into the US Army and proudly served from 1966 to 1968 as a dog handler. On July 11,1969, he married Pamela Grell, with whom he was married for 52 years. Together they raised Thomas, Tammi, Kandra, Nichole, and Phillip Ligenza. Richard was a licensed electrician for 49 years and an owner of Stan’s Lounge. Richard co-founded Philco Electric in 1996 with his son, Phillip Ligenza, before retiring in 2017.
Richard was a kind father and could always be depended on to lend a helping hand. He enjoyed spending time with family, was an avid league bowler, and loved tinkering on his cars. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.
