Marlene L. Cecrle, age 89, Milligan, passed away May 18, 2025 in Geneva. Marlene Lois (Niederklein) Cecrle was born on a farm near Daykin on October 31, 1935 to Fred & Myra (Lintz) Niederklein. She attended grade school at Zion Lutheran near Tobias, and graduated from Daykin high school in 1953.
After graduation she worked part time as a telephone operator in Daykin, and then at the 1st National Bank in Lincoln. On July 19th, 1959 she was married to Duane Cecrle of Milligan where they made their life long home. To this union a daughter Wendy was born. Marlene was a homemaker most of her married life, but did do a few jobs outside of the home. She and Duane both really enjoyed the time that they did babysitting for several families. Those kids were known as the extended family. Together they spent many years enjoying going to polka dances with their friends, and later made many new friends when they started to camp. She was a long time member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #240 in Milligan.
She is survived by her daughter Wendy and son-in law BJ, nephew, nieces, and friends.She is preceded in death by her husband Duane of 60 years, parents Fred and Myra Niederklein, in-laws Joe and Clara Cecrle, brother and sister-in law Wendell and LeIla Niederklein, and Sister-in law and brother in-law Marilyn and Ken Kasparek
