Robert Dean “Bobby” Lovelace was born to Galen Dwayne Lovelace and Deanna LaRae Smith Lovelace on February 18, 1985, at Austin, Texas.  He passed away January 2, 2026 at Bryan East Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 40 years, 11 months and 16 days.  He was one of three boys in the family.

Bobby, as he was known to family and friends, started his life in Austin, Texas for a short period and then moved to Lincoln, Nebraska and was the oldest of three boys.  He attended school at Arnold Elementary in Airpark through the 6th grade, then attended Dawes Middle School through 9th grade, then attended Lincoln High School and Lincoln Northeast.  Upon completion he went straight into the work force.

Bobby was blessed with two children: Peyton and Isabelle.  Bobby moved to Fairmont, Nebraska in 2004 where he worked for Even Temp in Waco.  He later worked at the Fairmont Ethanol plant for Advanced Bio Energy/Flint Hills Resources.  Thereafter, he left and worked for Nebraska Nitrogen and later returned to the Ethanol plant working for Poet.

He was a member of the Fairmont Sons of the American Legion Post #21 for 4 years.  During that time, he was Commander for the entirety and was the Secretary of the Legion Riders where he was most active in all Legion activities.

Bobby was an avid bowler his entire life, starting in Lincoln, Nebraska where he bowled at Sun Valley Lanes.  He bowled against his brother Jeff and Cousin David.  He also traveled to bowl in many tournaments across the United States.

With either a gun or fishing pole in hand, he enthusiastically hunted and fished in the area around the Blue River and Stumblin’ Bridge.  He had enjoyed fishing with his Father and his brother.  Most of all loved hunting with his Grandpa Smith and spending time in his garden.  He always made time for a drink with friends in his shop and always helped others even if he had no idea about the project, even if they never asked for help.  Another joy in his life was his “Baby” the 1979 Chevrolet Caprice Classic, he enjoyed working on cars and riding his Harley.  You could almost always find him at the Legion at 5 p.m. for happy hour or assisting in some way to help others or in some other way of helping the club.

He was Preceded in death by his father, Galen Lovelace, Grandfathers Richard Smith and Raymond Lovelace, and Grandmother Delores Calhoun.

He is survived by daughters, Peyton and Isabelle Lovelace of Fairmont, NE; Mother, Deanna Smith and husband Mike McGalliard of Fairmont, NE; Brothers, Jeffrey Lovelace and wife Amber of Oceanside, CA; Scott Lovelace of Fairmont, NE; Grandmother Barbara Smith of Fairmont, NE; Niece Aubree Lovelace of Oceanside, CA; Also surviving are many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and a host of friends.

Graveside Services procession ride to Fairmont Cemetery will begin at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Fairmont American Legion Post #21, 525 “F”-Jefferson Street, Fairmont.  A Celebration of Life reception will be at the American Legion following the graveside services.
