Larry Dale Sharp, 82, of Lincoln, NE, passed away on May 31, 2026. Larry was born on December 13, 1943 in Toledo, OH to Carmen D. and Harrietta M. (Shea) Sharp. At a young age, his family moved to Albuquerque, NM where he was raised and lived until joining the United States Air Force in 1962. While stationed in Lincoln, Larry met his wife of 44 years, Joyce VanLaningham. Following his military service, he worked at MidContinent Laboratory where he tested electrical products for the mariner space program. Shortly thereafter, he began a career with Square D, where he worked for nearly 40 years, advancing to the position of senior electrical engineer. Larry enjoyed golfing, model trains and motorcycles. He was an active member of Indian Hills Community Church.
Larry is survived by his daughters Amy (Darrin) Frey of Cedarville, OH, and Kathy Sharp, of Lincoln, NE, his grandchildren Michaela (James) Larson of Cedarville, OH, Jacob (Jocelyn Whitmore) Frey of Dayton, OH, and Nathan (Grace) Frey of Oviedo, FL, his brother Tom (Sarah) Sharp of Memphis, TN, and two nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
