Sharelyn L. (Schaaf) “Shari” Massa was born October 7, 1966 to her parents Don & Jane Schaaf. Shari married Don (Skip) Massa and together they raised their grandson Ethan Vanhoosen from 4-5 years old as their own. After Ethan graduated he left home and went into the Army.
Shari was preceded in death by grandparents, aunt, father and her brother Dion Schaaf. Sharelyn L. (Schaaf) Massa passed away on April 3, 2024 of Endometriosis Cancer that was extremely aggressive. Shari fought through her cancer as bravely as possible, and once she was told there were no further treatments to help her, she held her head high and continued to fight to the very end. Shari is survived by her mother Jane Solko and her niece Aimee Schaaf, fiancée AJ and their daughter Aira.

Also, Shari’s Celebration of Life services will be held at Ethan & family’s home @ 9629 Yellow Pine Road of Lincoln, NE this Saturday April 13th from 12 noon until 4:00. Smoked pork and a couple side dishes will be provided, we ask that you bring a dish to share. A free will offering will be present if you wish to help with her expenses. Unfortunately Shari didn’t have any life insurance at death. Think of a story to share with others about Shari and you.
Beautiful photo of Shari! Difficult to believe. I barely knew her but met Shari at her Aunt Dianna’s home on the Fourth of July some years ago. More recently she was the one who signed me up for a Costco membership when it opened in Lincoln, Shari fought such a hard fight. My sympathy to Shari’s family who hoped and prayed for a cure.
