Lillian Jo Garivay (Donscheski), 77, wife of Anthony Garivay, died peacefully in her home on May 26, 2026. She was born on May 29th, 1948, in Hastings, Nebraska, daughter of the late William Donscheski and Lillian (Donscheski) Barnes.

Lillian was married to John Dunlap from 1969-1992, and they had two daughters, Lisa and Nancy. In 1999, she married Anthony Garivay, with whom she remained happily married for the duration of her life. The two resided in Lincoln, Nebraska, where they spent their years enjoying the company of each other and of their family as often as possible.

Lillian was a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was known for her strong convictions and a spirited nature (often being described as a firecracker), kindness, humor, compassion, strength, and vast knowledge and wisdom. She loved spending her days gardening, engaging in political conversations, and especially cherished time spent with her family, specifically her grandchildren, who were greatly adored by her.

She is survived by her husband, Anthony Garivay; brother, Roger (Amy) Donscheski; daughter Lisa (Joel) Wittrock; daughter Nancy (Anthony) Parker; five grandchildren (who lovingly referred to her as ‘Big Jo’), Jocelyn Wittrock, Cody (Haevyn) Johnson; Molly (Conner) Foster; Violet Parker; Jack Parker; two great-grandchildren; Mazie Johnson; Colsen Foster and nephews; Joshua Thompson; Jakub Donscheski and Justice Donscheski.

Lillian Jo Garivay will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her. To know her was to love her greatly.
