Generous beyond measure is the phrase that perfectly defined Florence for me. Her heart was full of love and compassion for others; family, acquaintances, and at times people she had never met.
Instead of spending her retirement years on selfish pursuits, she was relentless in her service to others. She generously gave of her time and resources to make sure her family, friends and neighbors had the things they needed; food clothes, a ride to get where they needed to be or just someone to talk to.
Flo lived her life to the fullest and on her own terms. I think she would tell us not to spend too much time grieving, but instead to make every moment count.
She will live forever in our hearts and in the memories we cherish.
she was a special lady that would help any one that needed something eat ,needed ride some where or just someone to talk to She was a very special person she going to be missed by so many people. She was my special friend I will miss her and I will think of her often. Rest in peace Flo
I lived across the street from her. When I moved my son moved into my trailer. Roger cared a lot for her. I would have to say she was like a grandmother to him.He helped her out with mowing and they would talk often and I did with her also. Whenever ken and I would go over on the weekend She would always make sure to make her way over to see us before we left. She was a great Woman. My Dad knew her also from when she worked at the El- Matador Lounge. They had quite a few laughs when he would come over. We would sit and have a cold one while they reminisced. She was so giving to others also. She will lovingly live on in our hearts. You and your sweet laughter will be greatly missed Flo. I Thank you for looking after my Roger and keeping him in line. I know he misses you dearly.
I think I remember this lady from Tuesday afternoons at Foodnet at the United Methodist Church near Havelock. She would come over with a friend of hers, Elbert, who lives nearby in the trailer court. She will be missed. They always liked it when they have the bags of pop.
