Francine Lucille Workman Brown, age 73, of Lincoln, Nebraska passed away on Sept. 4, 2020 after a stroke on Aug. 18.  She died with hospice at home surrounded by her loved ones.  Francine was born Mar. 20, 1947 to Dolores Lucile (Stertz) Workman & Frank Monroe Workman.  After graduating from Southeast High where she was a member of the Future Nurses of America, Knightettes, and Thalians she married Jack G. Brown, from Vici, OK on Oct. 1, 1965.  They would have celebrated their 55th anniversary this year.

Jack and Francine made their first home in Millington, TN where Jack was stationed at NASTC then moved to Lakehurst, NJ; NAS HC4 and in 1972, back to Lincoln to be close to family.  They built a home on an acreage east of Lincoln where they lived for 48 years.  They raised 3 children engaging them in swimming, camping, gymnastics, 4- H, horse riding and road trips full of fond memories.  Francine loved ceramics, oil painting, and flower gardening.  Once the children went to school Francine received her real estate and brokers license; selling real estate for Century 21 and later managing properties for Tabitha.  Francine eventually retired from INS as a federal employee having served 19 years.  All the while Jack and Francine managed their own apartment rental business.

Preceding Francine in death are her parents, brothers William and Ernie, niece Jennifer Workman, and a grand-daughter Tamber.  She leaves yet to meet again, husband; Jack Brown of Lincoln, NE, children; Tammy (& David) Gersh of Carrollton, TX, Todd Brown of Lincoln, NE, and Tina Brown of Lincoln, NE, grandchildren; Eve, Ethan, and Eli Gersh of Carrollton, TX, Nikki Brown of Red Oak, IA, and Michael Brown of Manassas, VA, great-grandchildren; Faith, Chanan, and River of Red Oak, IA, brothers and sisters Delouise Carroll, Joe (& Tina) Workman, Bob (& Carol) Workman and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, family & friends.

A celebration of life for Francine will be held Saturday, Sept 12 at 2 p.m. at Jack & Francine’s home.  Family and friends welcome.  Please wear a mask.
