Richard Dean Newman Sr., age 85, Lincoln, passed away October 15, 2021 in Lincoln. He was born July 29, 1936 in Ansley, NE to Thomas and Opal (Sigler) Newman and graduated from Ansley High School in 1956. Richard was a United States Army Veteran serving from December 4, 1956 to December 3, 1958 when he was honorably discharged. He was an iron worker until his retirement.
Richard is survived by his son Richard Dean (Myrna) Newman Jr., daughters April Lee Newman, June Marie (Phillip) Humphrey, 13 Grandchildren, 34 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Sheryal Newman, parents Thomas and Opal Newman, brother Thomas Newman and sister Marie Payne.
Graveside services with Military Honors will be Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Omaha National Cemetery, 14250 Schram Road, Omaha. Uncle Dick was the sweetest and kindest uncle you could wish for. When I was young he fixed my hair so pretty, and he was a great pool player. He was a man with many traits. I will always remember Uncle Dickie.
