Charlotte Flottemesch, age 92, passed away on February 23, 2022, peacefully surrounded by her loving family.  Charlotte was born on May 11, 1929 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She moved to Clatonia, Nebraska where she raised her three children, Susan, Barbara and Robert with her late husband, Edward Flottemesch. She overcame many adversities in life by way of a good joke or story. Despite this, she loved life and would say, “Accept the past and keep life moving forward.” Her deep love for her family, along with her independent and witty character gave her the strength and passion for life.

Charlotte loved her family, friends and pets fiercely and would take any chance to show it. Charlotte sought the beauty in life by collecting antiques, wearing the biggest jewelry, seeking adventures, and she never shied away from learning something new. 

Charlotte was steadfast and humble in who she was and would often say, “I am who I am. I can’t change that.” She always had a group of people around her who soaked up her laughter, love of life, stories and jokes. Charlotte will be remembered for her one-liners, love of antiques, wiener dogs and will always serve as an inspiration to love your life. 

Life’s too short – so chase the beauty, adventures and always find a reason to laugh. 

Survived by her three children, Susan (Phil) Nickerson, Barbara Nix, Robert (Laura) Flottemesch, grandchildren, Aunnie (Mike) Terryberry, Andy (Emmie) Ihle, Eric (Danielle) Ihle, John Nix, Toby Nix, Emma Flottemesch, Edison Flottemesch, Lucy Flottemesch, Lily Flottemesch, and six great-grandchildren, Estes Terryberry, Avett Terryberry, Kit Terryberry, Stella Ihle, Harper Ihle, Liam Ihle, and sister Merrily Bailey.
