In loving memory of Barbara Ann “Bobbi” Meyer born June 17, 1946 to Edward and Merna (DeRoe) Meyer in Lincoln, Nebraska. Bobbi graduated from Panama High School in 1964 and attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for two years before working for Lincoln Telephone and Telegraph Company in November 1966 as a long distance telephone operator and held the position of Customer Service Advisor when she retired in June 1996. While working at the telephone company, she developed many friendships that she treasured for the rest of her life.
Bobbi had a very long list of friends that she loved dearly dating back to her high school days. Her journey through life also gave her many friendships that she kept in touch with. Her friends and family were everything to her. Her cousins were some of her best friends. She loved to “go” and was always ready to plan a trip or go on a spur of the moment vacation with friends or family and never missed a chance to go to a casino. She was able to travel many places throughout the world and had great memories to share of each trip she took. Many friends and family have described Bobbi as being very personable and extremely kind to everyone she met. Bobbi lived in Lincoln most of her life. She also lived in Missouri for a few years where she learned to quilt and spent some years making quilts by hand. For the last ten years she lived in Frankfort, KY.
She is survived by sisters; Sandra (Sandy) and Randy Bowen, Karen and Robert Scott, Angela (Angie) Meyer, Sherry (Doug Pope) Furnas and brother and sister-in-law Roger and Connie Meyer. Additional survivors include; special friend Kenny Jones of Frankfort, KY, nieces and spouses, Randolyn LaFerney, Lisa (Eddie) Broadwater, Marsha (Kyle) Nelson, Tracy Scott, Erika (Steve) Kane, Jennifer Fynbu, Heather Furnas and nephews and spouses; Todd Scott, Dan (Brandee) Weber, Kyle Meyer. She is also survived by nine great nieces, nine great nephews and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; Edward and Merna Meyer; brother-in-law Gale Furnas; nephews Russell Scott and Adam Furnas; Clyde Meyer, dear friend and cousin; aunts and uncles.
Family and friends will gather at Tanner’s Bar and Grill, 8600 S. 30th Street, Lincoln from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Saturday, October 7, 2023 for the “Party” Bobbi requested. Graveside services will be Noon, Saturday, October 7, at the Pella Cemetery, 26201 S. 162nd Street, Adams. NE. Memorials may be sent to the Lincoln Capital Humane Society through their website. Bobbi’s memory will forever live on in the stories, laughter and love that she shared with so many. My thoughts and prayers are with the family during this challenging time. She will forever be missed.

Bobbi always made work fun. We had many laughs and made lasting memories during our time as Service Advisors. Traveling throughout the Lincoln Telephone territory, everyone always looked forward to seeing Bobbi and always had a kind word to say about her. She was a beautiful lady inside and out.
