My deepest sympathies to your family and friends out in Lincoln. You had many good and kind qualities and the last few years were difficult. May you find peace and joy in the next life.
I’m so sorry for your loss. Kim was such a sweet neighbor. We didn’t see her much in the winter, but in the spring and summer she was a neighborhood fixture. She was especially sweet to my four kids. They always loved to see her out and about while walking Cora. She left them Easter baskets and Christmas treats and even Fourth of July treats this past year, and the kids were always so thrilled. When we saw this news my daughters were heartbroken and they immediately grabbed the bunnies she left them last year to snuggle with.
She was always interested in what was going on with them and my 9 year old took great solace in Kim’s assurances that she would pray for my daughter’s eye surgeries this past summer. In past summers she was always happy to dip her toes in our wading pool and throw a ball for the kids or splash with them. She could always be seen on the neighborhood playground in early spring changing out the trashcan or pushing a neighborhood kid on the swings, even when her strength was waning. So many kids in this neighborhood loved to pet Cora when Kim would walk her, and she never failed to take an interest in what they were doing. I enjoyed chatting with her many times on our patio about our faith, her time in England, her life as a military kid, and what birds we were seeing at our feeders. She was a sweet soul and she will be missed.
Sending love and healing prayers. Kim will be deeply missed. She became my good friend when we worked together in England and I was happy that we remained friends ever after that.
