Gale F Johnson passed away Sunday May 29, 2022, after a long courageous battle with cancer. He was 80 years old. Gale was born July 16, 1941. He was the sixth of nine children born to Henry and Dora Johnson in Henryton, MD. He came to Lincoln, by way of the United States Air force, stationed in Lincoln for four years, this is where he met and married the love of his life Katherine (Jelinek) and married her February 3, 1962. They were married for 60 years. They were blessed with three children: Sons, Daniel J. (Rebecca) Johnson, Douglas W Johnson, both of Hickman NE. Daughter Kristine A. (Wade) Boelter of Dwight NE. After he was honorably discharged from the service in 1966, he became a master plumber and joined the Steamfitters and Plumbers Local Union 464 and was a proud member for 55 years.
Gale and Kathie lived all over eastern Nebraska and for a short time in Maryland. Gale enjoyed traveling around the country and seeing their families and friends. He also enjoyed woodworking and remodeled many homes. He is survived by his wife Katherine and their children, grandchildren Jennifer Johnson, Stephanie (Daniel) Tachovsky, Brian Johnson and partner Stephanie Kerr, Nathan (Natalie) Johnson and 9 ¾ great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Evelyn, Gladys, Mary, Mack, Kenneth, and Jack, Daughter in law Lisa (Riley) Johnson.
