Sherlene Mae Stolley, 70, of Lincoln, Nebraska, passed away on Friday, November 28, 2025. She was surrounded by her loved ones in the comfort of her home. Sherlene was born on October 26, 1955, in Marietta, Georgia, to Bill and Jean Bush. She grew up in Edgar, Nebraska and attended Sandy Creek High School where she met the love of her life Robert K. Stolley.
On July 12, 1975, Sherlene was united in marriage to Robert at the Lutheran Church in Glenvil, Nebraska. The couple lived in Glenvil and Fairfield, Nebraska where they welcomed their two children, Marty and Melisa. In 1984, the family moved to Malcolm, Nebraska.
Sherlene opened her in-home daycare and lovingly cared for countless children within her community. Along the way, she built cherished friendships that grew into lifelong family. In 1996, Sherlene transitioned from childcare to working as a lab technician for Hi-Tech Optical where she remained for the next 20 years. Afterward, she spent several years devoted to her family before joining the Owens & Associates family where she spent the remainder of her career as a part-time administrative assistant.
Sherlene is survived by her husband, Robert Stolley; her son, Marty Stolley, and daughter-in-law April Stolley; her daughter, Melisa Stolley; and her beloved grandchildren, Dakota Collins, Darrel Collins, and Hunter Stolley. She is also survived by several cherished brother-in laws and sister-in-laws, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Jean Bush; her brothers, William (Bill) Bush and Dennis Crowell; and her sister, Cheryl Cerny.
Celebration of Life services will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025 beginning at 10:00 a.m. with a luncheon to follow at the Pleasant Dale Legion, 126 Ash St., Pleasant Dale, NE 68423.
