Michael Richard (Mike) Sullivan, age 71, Lincoln, passed away May 23, 2026. Michael R. Sullivan (Mike) lived hard, worked hard, but he played even harder. Mike enjoyed gambling, horse races, Budweiser and women. The kind of lifestyle that usually came with late nights and good stories. He lived life on his own terms, for better or worse, and was unapologetic about the choices he made. Mike always said he would live to be 72 years old. He passed away on May 23rd, just shy of that goal, with his 72nd birthday approaching on June 5th.
Mike is survived by his daughter, Michele Mower of Lincoln; his Grand Dog, Sancha, of Lincoln; and his sister, Paula Loehr of Minneapolis. He was preceded in death by his beloved dog, Jessie Dog (J.D) Mother, Barbara Blattert; his stepfather, Gary Blattert and his father, Don Sullivan.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Nebraska Council on Problem Gambling. Condolences may be left at trumpmemorials.com. Trump Funeral Services, 1600 West “O” Street, Lincoln.
Thanks Mike for an amazing daughter. We shared some fun times, some odd experiences, and some moments to treasure. Your work ethic and talent was truly impressive. You wore many hats in your life, and I’m sorry the gambling consumed your soul. But I hope your journey home finds you at peace, knowing you were loved and will be missed by some. Rest well…
