Terry, I am so sorry to read about Jim’s passing. You two were such a beautiful couple. My thoughts and prayers for you and your family.
SOOOOO SORRY !!!! I lost my Dad to Cancer 6-25-2016 there is NOTHING anyone can say or do to make this easyer. All we can do is take one day at a time. I still have lots of family issues , pain . I can not for sure say when I 1st met Jim ? Many yrs ago he was my Ups driver, at this time I was working at the Nursing Home in Tecumseh & got to know Jim well & later at the Church I would guess close to 30 yrs. or maybe even longer. ? No matter how busy he was he always had a kind word to say. I thought I always wanted to be a driver to, He told he its very hard work & very hard to get your foot in the door but its a good job. I applyed many times but never got in. JIM WILL BE MISSED BY MANY, WHAT A MAN HE WAS !
Jim was always a character. My first memories are when he and Joel were dating Terry and Jerry. They tried to pull things on Terry and Jerry all the time. They tried to trick Terry and Jerry on the phone by making them think they were speaking to the other guy. For homecoming I remember Terry had placed a dress on lay-away at Sears. She was so excited about the dress and had told me (and other girls) all about it. When she went to pick it up, it wasn’t there. Terry was SO upset with Sears. How could they give her dress to someone else by mistake??? Turned out Jim paid it off and picked it up for her but waited until Terry was all upset before he told her! Sweet that he paid for it as a surprise but NOT sweet that he didn’t tell her until she was all upset about it.
Jim ran distances in track with Bill and it turned out that our sons ran the same relay at State that they did.
When we were all first married we would go camping and rubber rafting together. Jim could put a smile on anyone’s face. I think that is why he made such a good UPS driver. He would stop in and surprise you if you were on his route. The Wilson’s, King’s, Ringland’s also started the annual New Year’s gatherings. As our families grew the annual gatherings became too much for one home.
Jim knew His Lord and Savior and openly shared his faith. He was overflowing with the joy of Lord and loved to share it with others. I love knowing your family today because his sons also have his personality, sense of humor and great faith. Jim is with his Lord and Savior but will be greatly missed by all the people he has touched.
I was so, so sorry to hear about Jim! Such a nice guy. Always a gentleman and had a great smile and personality. Got to see him a couple times since school when he delivered packages to Mom when I was home. Took the time to chat…..something he didn’t have to do. My thoughts and prayers to all the family…..especially Terry.
Take care!
