Joan Marie Mundt, 74, of Lincoln, Nebraska, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, July 12, 2025. Born on June 10, 1951, in Stromsburg, Nebraska, Joan lived a life centered around family, faith, and the simple joys of home. She was the heart of her family, a talented homemaker, and a woman whose warmth radiated through everything she did—from her famous homemade bread and canned tomato juice to the baby quilts she lovingly sewed.
Joan is survived by the love of her life, Garrett Mundt; daughters Lori Meyer (Scott) and Lisa Duffield (Dave); grandchildren Natasha Drake, Payton Partida (Matt), Jordan Drake, Dillon Duffield (Madolynn), Madalynn, McClain, Mallorie, and Emersyn Meyer; and great-grandchildren Gunner, Max, Atticus, Greyson, and Brooks. She is also survived by her siblings Terry (Karen), Jerry (Mick), Jean, and Jeff (Kevin).
She was greeted at the heavenly gates by her beloved daughter Shelli Drake; great-grandsons Rylan and Kyler; her parents Ruth and Farnum Schrader; and in-laws Don and Emily Mundt.
Joan’s love and legacy live on through every life she touched. She will be remembered for her generous heart, quiet strength, and the comfort she brought to others—whether through a warm meal, a stitched quilt, or her gentle presence.
