Roger Znamenacek, 78, of Bennet, Nebraska, passed away in Lincoln on November 13, 2023 after a courageous battle with COPD. He was born at home as a surprise addition in Crete, NE on February 18, 1945 to George and Evelyn, the baby of 8 siblings. Roger met the love of his life Janice Bargman when they worked together in Crete and the two were married in 1974. They where married for 49 amazing years. Janice doted on Roger and role modeled for her children and grandchildren what true love and commitment to a marriage looks like.
Roger loved fixing things and starting his own businesses and together he and his wife owned and operated J&R Repairs, a bathtub repair company. Roger lived vicariously through his children and grandchildren through countless road trips, attending countless sporting and performing arts events, watching tv (very loudly), fishing, and craft projects. Roger will be remembered for his sense of humor, being a founding member of The Bennet Corner Stop Coffee Club, his small town friendliness, his commitment to his family, and his crazy sock collection which he proudly showed off.
Roger is survived by his loving wife, Janice of Bennet. Daughters, Sarah (Ali) Alhachami of Bennet, Amy (Jason) Boyer of Bellevue. Sons, David Znamenacek of Lincoln, Andy (Wendy) Znamenacek of Grand Island, Allen (Susan) Znamenacek of Arizona. Grandchildren, Mariam, Zak, Haider, and Mason Alhachami of Bennet, Molly Sorensen, Annah, Lani, Logan, Maggie Boyer, Kaeliana and Karlos Robles of Bellevue Casey, Lillian, Nick Znamenacek of Ohio, Elyse Lyons of Lincoln, Allison Znamenacek of Arizona, Grace Znamenacek of Omaha, Gavin and Caleb Znamenacek of Arizona, Jaden (Kore) Znamenacek of Grand Island. Great Grandchildren, Ava Znamenacek of Ohio, Carter Rawson of Lincoln, Azalea Znamenacek of Grand Island. Sister/brother-in-law, Toni Znamenacek, Mona (Dan) Heusinkvelt, Dennis (Sue) Bargman, Lisa Safar, Randy (Deb) Bargman, Robert Renner, Joseph Jones. Special nieces, Sue Dawson, Deb Roberts, Kali Slone. Nephew/partner in crime, Danny Znamenacek. Many family and friends of his children he loved as his own.

Graveside Services will be held at Centerville Cemetery, 1800 West Roca Road, Martell on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. officiated by family friend and Pastor Darin Corder. A Celebration of Life will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the Bennet Community Church, 350 Monroe Street, Bennet. The Celebration of Life will be live streamed at http://www.facebook.com/bennetcommunitychurch. Roger was known for his love of casual dress of sweatpants and funny t-shirts.
