Donna Rae Dix, 92, of Lincoln, NE, passed away on Monday, September 30, 2024 after a full and rich life. She was spunky to her core and demonstrated that as a loving wife, mom, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Donna was born on August 7, 1932 to Paul and Alice Weber in Butte, NE. After graduating from Butte High School in 1950, she went on to teach school for a year. After graduation, she married Jim Dix of Butte, NE, and had three children: Larry Dix married to Leslie of Lincoln, NE, Annette Nelson married to John of Littleton, CO and Tricia Dix of Omaha, NE. She was blessed with 3 grandchildren: Jason Dix (Miami, FL), Amy Dix (Jacksonville, FL) and Zach Nelson (Lincoln). Donna had one great grandchild, Regis Dix (Miami, FL).

Donna and Jim worked together most of their careers. They were railroad depot agents and resided in many locations in Nebraska and South Dakota. When they moved to Butte they owned and operated the D&W IGA store and the Purina Feed Store and Cream station. After their years in Butte, they made a move to manage the B&B motel in Auburn, NE and Best Western West Way in Alliance, NE. Donna later worked as a “lunch lady” at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Lincoln. Donna and Jim were married 43 years.

After Jim’s passing in 1995, Donna moved to Lincoln for a few years and then to Omaha until 2020 when she moved back to Lincoln, where she resided at the Yankee Hill Village until her passing. Donna enjoyed spending time with family, having a couple of cocktails, playing cards, loving big band music, dancing and cheering on her beloved Nebraska Cornhuskers!

Donna is preceded in death by her husband Jim, her first daughter-in-law Ronda, sister Margaret (Merv) Fuhrer, brothers Bob (Helen) Weber, Dick (Dorothy) Weber and Kenny Weber.

Memorial Services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 5, 2024 at Trump Funeral Services, 1600 West “O” Street, Lincoln. Donna will be laid to rest beside Jim in Butte, NE in a private memorial at a later date.
