Charles W. Scheel, age 91, Lincoln, passed away March 12, 2023 in Lincoln. Charles was born near Roca and was raised on the family farm. He was a United States Air Force and Korean War veteran. Charles worked for the Lincoln Gas Company for 50 years and became the longest employee for the company.
Charles is survived by his step-son Brian Wolesensky, step-daughter Debra Hoggatt, step-granddaughter Angela Hoggatt, family friend Bob Scott, sister-in-law Vi Bragg, numerous nieces and nephews, many co-workers and fishing buddies.
He was preceded in death by his wife Lorraine, brother and sister-in-law Robert and Ruth Scheel Sr., sisters and brothers-in-law Carolyn and Al Jacobs, Myrna and John Metheny, Janice and Russell Lundquist Jr.
Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 11:15 a.m., Friday, March 17, 2023 at Trump Funeral Services, 1600 West “O” Street, Lincoln. Family and friends will meet at Gate #2 at 12:00 p.m. Noon, Friday, March 17, 2023 at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery, 6800 South 14th Street. Lincoln. Condolences may be left at trumpmemorial.com.
3/14/2023==I WORKED WITH CHARLIE FOR 42 OF THOSE 50 YEARS. HE WAS “ONE HECK OF A WELDER” HE WAS NOT VERY VOCAL BUT DID HAVE A GOOD SENSE OF HUMOR.

To Charlie’s family, I was very sorry to hear of Charlie’s passing. You have my deepest sympathy. Charlie was a great employee. I could always count on him to get all of his projects done on time and done well.
