Kay always beat me in “ping pong” and in “horse.” Three out of 4 games should always win. A very wicked left hand slam. She did not have an easy life with her handicaps but love to watch “her Huskers”. She is the first one of our class to go besides Martha who joined us in high school sometime. Didn’t keep in contact like I should have. Always seem to think we are too busy.
Kay was a special girl. She enjoyed her volleyball games and was a wonderful fan.
She was always in a very joyful mood. Our love, thoughts and prayers are with her family.
So sorry. Just talked to her at volleyball game a couple weeks ago. Known her for many years.
Cheryl was such a die -hard Husker volleyball fan and dearly loved the players. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.
Jim & I sat next to Cheryl at Husker volleyball games for years starting at the old Colosseum & later at the Devaney Center. She arrived early & stayed until the team left the floor. Cheryl cheered louder than most & often offered her own take on an official’s call…discretely of course. We missed her when she had to relocate her seat because of mobility issues but I could sometimes see her sitting across the arena intently focused on the game. I can only imagine how excited she must have been knowing the Huskers were still in the running for national championship. I’m sure she’ll be watching!
Condolences to Cheryl’s family. She will be missed.
Very Saddened to read about Kay’s passing. I knew her from my previous medical office and she was always a delight to sit and talk to. She even brought me a gift once that sits on a shelf in my entryway, a copper colored Peacock. Now she will forever have the best seats in the house for those volleyball games!
